Our story
Simon Wells took over the Lower Street Brasserie, with the support of his wife Kerri and Daughter Lilli-Ann in February 2019, their son Stanley followed in 2021 with focus on fresh, high-end food and drinks at good prices.

Simon sees a dining experience as a combination of fantastic food, accompanying drinks, relaxed but vibrant atmosphere and top-class service. – he believes that if one of these components is not met the dining experience cannot reach its full potential. Something that we are passionate about delivering consistently to each of our customers that walks through the door.
Our chefs
Simon Wells has worked locally in Anton’s by Anton Edelmann, Alec’s fish restaurant, COHO Brasserie and more recently working in the Army and Navy Private Members Club before opening The Lower Street Brasserie.
Raffaele Rioda (Head Chef) has worked as at a suit of high-end local restaurants, including most recently Lussmanns. He brings years of experience to the Lower Street Brasserie. He is a real asset to the Brasserie team, and we are lucky to have him.

We take pride in training and developing chefs. Most recently we welcome our apprentice chef Toby whose enthusiasm for learning amazes us every day. Toby's hard work and talent in the kitchen shines though with contributions to Raffaele's seasonal menus.
Collectively they are passionate about combining all the skills acquired at these quality establishments and developing them in to innovative and delicious menus.
